WEIG wins the Public Award at the Carton Austria Award 2025

Mayen, 9th October 2025 – A strong signal for sustainable packaging solutions: Together with our partners Dosenkarton and Cardbox Packaging Wolfsberg, WEIG has received the Public Award at the Carton Austria Award 2025 for the joint project “DosenKARTON – Carrier Tray for Aluminum Cans.” At the award ceremony held as part of Packaging Dialog 2025, representatives of all three partners jointly accepted the award.

Alexander Schwab, Head of Sales Folding Boxboard at WEIG, summed it up succinctly:

“Using recycled board for a recycling-related application—that is genuine circular economy, and that is exactly what WEIG stands for.”

The Carton Austria Award, an initiative of PROPAK Austria, Pro Carton, and the trade magazine CASH, recognizes innovative and sustainable packaging solutions.

Particularly gratifying: the Public Award was chosen by the general public—a clear indication that circular economy concepts and recycled board are gaining increasing appreciation.
