Mike Petersen Appointed Managing Director of Moritz J. Weig GmbH and Buchmann GmbH

Mayen, 13 February 2025 – As of 1 February 2025, Mike Petersen has joined the management team of Moritz J. Weig GmbH and Buchmann GmbH. Working alongside Xaver Weig, he will be responsible for the European packaging market and the strategic development of the group in this sector.

With more than 30 years of experience in the paper and packaging industry, Mr. Petersen brings extensive expertise in business development, market expansion, and the optimisation of international sales structures. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Mayr-Melnhof’s cartonboard mill in Gernsbach. Prior to that, he held senior positions at the LEIPA Group, the Prinzhorn Group, and Mondi.

Strengthened Leadership Structure within the WEIG Group

With Mike Petersen’s appointment to the management team, Moritz J. Weig is handing over the operational management of the cartonboard mills and will focus on responsibilities within the WEIG Holding.
